Nursing care for intranatal pregnant women plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and safe delivery process. This study aims to evaluate intranatal nursing care in healthcare facilities in the Karawang area, which is characterized by a high birth rate and certain challenges, including limited nursing staff. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with nurses experienced in providing intranatal care. The study results indicate that nurses in the Karawang area provide physical and emotional support, monitor vital signs, and implement non-pharmacological pain management techniques, such as relaxation and comfortable positioning. This support helps reduce maternal anxiety and enhances comfort during labor. However, challenges were identified, including a shortage of nursing staff, which impacts the optimization of intranatal care in high-volume delivery facilities. This study concludes that increasing the number of healthcare staff and specialized training for nurses is essential to support improved quality of delivery care in Karawang. Implementing evidence-based nursing care is expected to reduce the risk of complications and contribute to efforts to decrease maternal and infant mortality rates in this region.
Marsha Lystia Farizi
